SMEs are of great importance in the canton of Bern. Many of these medium-sized companies are European or even global market leaders in their technological niche, but often go unnoticed by the general public. We are focusing on some of these companies in a mini-series.
Rondo
RONDO has been manufacturing machines and equipment for the production of all types of baked goods since 1948. These are used worldwide by small artisan bakers as well as large industrial producers.
The key to this success lies in the excellent quality and high reliability of the equipment, along with outstanding customer service. These qualities, referred to at RONDO as "Dough-how," make RONDO the market leader in its field.
The globally operating SME will employ 460 people in 2024, 250 of whom are based at the headquarters in Burgdorf. Additionally, RONDO Burgdorf AG has seven subsidiaries and three sales offices.
RONDO takes advantage of cantonal support to produce innovative machines for the bakery industry. These machines help to better roll out and shape dough, making production processes more efficient and sustainable.
